Founded in 1963, Process Cooling Systems, Inc. designs, installs and services process water systems for industrial manufacturing operations of all types and sizes. The current executive team was formed in 2004. With a consistently innovative approach emphasizing energy efficiency, performance and reliability, Process Cooling has become the industry leader in providing turnkey solutions.

PCS continues to grow and has more than 60 employees with an average of 20+ years of experience. Two offices are conveniently located to support you, in Leominster, MA and Greenville, SC. In-house engineers with full CAD capability provide mechanical and electrical design.

Qualified, licensed and insured piping crews from each location bring years of expertise and knowledge to a wide variety of piping systems. The manufacturing facility has both pipe and certified structural welders on staff in addition to an in-house UL certified electrical panel shop. A new 60,000ftfacility is under construction and scheduled to be completed in 2019.

Application Engineer – Mechanical

Status: Full time

Location: Leominster, MA

For over 30 years, Process Cooling Systems, Inc. has been a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems. With offices in Leominster, MA and Spartanburg, SC, PCS provides process water solutions for industrial manufacturing operations of all types and sizes, across North America. 

The Application Engineer will fill a critical role on our growing Engineering team. This position requires a dynamic engineer with the ability to design process cooling systems for greenfield projects along with retrofits and expansions for existing systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with our sales representatives to perform initial customer evaluations, create proposals and monitor projects through final implementation and commissioning. In addition, the Application Engineer will work closely with our vendors, project managers, manufacturing and CAD departments to formulate project costs and prepare customer proposals.

Responsibilites

  • Evaluate customers’ needs, design solutions and select equipment to achieve desired results
  • Design systems to meet customer requirements, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, energy efficiency and water conservation
  • Prepare job costs and customer proposals
  • Perform detailed energy and water use analysis
  • Occasional domestic travel to customer sites

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical background with manufacturing/industrial experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of equipment used in process cooling water and air conditioning system design including: pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, cooling towers, dry air coolers and adiabatic coolers
  • Ability to build and nurture customer relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CAD

Service Start-up Technician

Status: Full time

Location: Leominster, MA

With a growing team and offices in Leominster, MA and Greenville, SC, PCS provides process water solutions for industrial manufacturing operations of all types and sizes, across North America. As a member of the Service Team, you will fill a critical role in delivering state of the art solutions to our growing customer base. This Service Start-up Technician is responsible for initial installation and service of chillers, cooling towers, dry air coolers, adiabatic coolers, pumps, variable frequency drives and Allen Bradley PLC’s. The successful candidate will also assist in other aspects of the on-site install process including piping and controls wiring among other requirements.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, collaborative, have solid customer service and communication skills and be able to take direction and interact successfully with project management teams. This position is over-time eligible and will report into the Service Team.

Responsibilites

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and service multiple different pieces of equipment for industrial cooling systems
  • Assist in other on-site installation tasks including piping and controls wiring
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment for all team members and customer staff
  • Up to 150 days of travel per year so must be able to work independently to achieve equipment and system start-up schedules

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience as a service/start-up technician of cooling equipment
  • Must be able to read and interpret prints
  • Refrigeration license a plus
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn piping and control wiring
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Manufacturing

This Manufacturing position is responsible for cutting, welding, and grinding the necessary components for use on subassembly/assembly components. The successful candidate will also assist in other aspects of the manufacturing process including insulating, assembling piping, and painting among other requirements.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, collaborative, have solid communication skills and be able to take direction and interact successfully with design teams. This position is over-time eligible and will report into the Project Management Team.

Responsibilites

  • Cut, weld, and grind parts by operating fabricating machinery (iron worker, shear, plasma cutter, mag drill, etc.) for various projects utilizing design drawings
  • Assist in other tasks including insulating, assembling piping, assembling valve components
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment for all team members and company staff

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MIG/TIG SS & Steel
  • Must be able to read and interpret prints, sketches, and parts list
  • One year of experience in Parts welding and using a MIG welder preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Industrial HVAC Service Technician

Status: Full time

Location: Leominster, MA

With a growing team and offices in Leominster, MA and Greenville, SC, PCS provides process water solutions for industrial manufacturing operations of all types and sizes, across North America. As a member of the Service Team, you will fill a critical role in delivering state of the art solutions and customer service to our growing customer base. This Industrial HVAC Service Technician position is responsible for the install, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and process cooling systems along with diagnosing and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, collaborative, have solid customer service and communication skills and be able to take direction and interact successfully with project management teams. This position is over-time eligible and will report into the Service Team.

Responsibilites

  • Install, maintain and repair HVAC equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and process cooling systems for industrial customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on these systems.
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is required to correct problem.
  • Travel to job sites in and out of service area, some overnight travel is required.
  • Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
  • Maintain good working order of company vehicle and maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting diverse industrial HVAC service issues
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and PLC a plus
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Massachusetts Refrigeration License (or currently in the process of obtaining)
  • EPA refrigeration certification (universal preferred)
  • Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by company
  • Lift up to 75 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights

Estimator/Technical Writer

Status: Full time

Location: Leominster, MA

The Estimator / Technical Writer will fill a critical role on our growing Sales / Engineering team. This position requires a dynamic individual with the ability to gather and develop cost information as well as update and write technical product manuals. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Sales and Engineering team to perform initial customer evaluations, create proposals and maintain technical documentation. In addition, the Estimator / Technical Writer will work closely with our vendors, project managers, manufacturing and CAD departments to formulate project costs and prepare customer proposals. The Estimator / Technical Writer will report to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilites

  • Assist Sales and Engineering with the gathering of cost information.
  • Contact vendors to get quotes on needed material and equipment.
  • Estimate shop labor hours needed to manufacture required equipment.
  • Summarize estimated job costs and prepare preliminary customer proposals.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints, drawings and P&ID diagrams and schematics.
  • Responsible for creating, writing and editing technical documents and manuals.
  • Explain equipment information in a clear and concise manner working with Sales and Engineering to ensure accuracy on information.
  • Acquire and organize source materials, including supplier documentation, product data sheets, engineering documentation and drawings.
  • Produce electronic documentation and hard copies of all manuals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical documents.
  • Manage updates and revisions to all equipment technical documents and literature.

Qualifications

  • Entry Level Position
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a fabrication environment or technical writing.
  • Associate degree in a technical field a plus.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical background with manufacturing / industrial experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently or in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience writing technical documents a plus.
  • Ability to write in different styles depending on audience.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
